For a little while now, I’ve been following a basic daily Scripture reading plan that involves me reading one chapter per day (at least) from one Old Testament book and one from the New. Coincidentally, I’m now in Leviticus in the Old Testament and Revelation in the New. Oh. Dear. God.
These two books are important. I get that. But I’m taking it to a whole new level by reading both together. Let’s just say I’m building some serious endurance.
Also coincidentally, both deal with sacrifices and lambs. I’ve been moved by a couple things. First, Leviticus is impressive in its meticulous detail. Second, Revelation is moving in the way it engages the cost of martyrdom.
I’m appreciating the challenge.
